Ebony plane handle

I made a smart low knob for my favourite Stanley 5 1/2 plane a number of years ago, but did not get around to tackling the handle .
This irritated me from time to time and eventually I decided to make the handle using some old East Indian Ebony. Having achieved this I felt than an Ebony knob would look better than the old Indian Rosewood one. I was very happy with the shape, which is much more waisted than early Stanley models. This makes a comfortable place for my thumb, up against the base. Having none of the correct thickness I decided to use some Macassar Ebony which was lurking around.
Not the easiest of jobs, I’m very pleased with the final result particularly the subtle streaks in the handle.
