Big dog is dead and I don't understand. It happened this morning and we are
all very upset. Not quite sure what we will do without him.

Ruan was put to sleep this morning, at home, in his bed, by Bill and Carol
and it was as good as it could be. He had finally stopped eating, his back
end had gone and he was losing his dignity. He was tired of fighting.
He was a very special wise dog and will make an excellent angel. I hope he
is in doggy heaven with all our other setters and Erik, who I hope he has
forgiven.
