Booking procedure

For 5-day courses, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of your fee is payable upon booking to secure your place on the course; a receipt will be sent. The balance is due 6 weeks before the start date.
If you book less than 6 weeks before the course starts, the full fee is payable.
Cheques should be made payable to ‘David Charlesworth (Hartland) Ltd’.

We can accept most credit card and debit cards, though a surcharge of 3.45% will be added to cover bank charges, fees therefore £651.74. For advance bookings, a deposit of £325.70 will reserve your place and the final payment of £325.70 will become payable 6 weeks before the start of your course.

For sharpening weekends the full fee of £250 is payable upon booking.


Payments by cheque or bank transfer only: If you choose to pay the whole amount upon booking, we can offer the course at the lower price of £610. (If you chose to pay by two instalments, the full price £630 will apply).

Cancellation policy

If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the start of the course no refund is payable. We recommend that you consider taking out a holiday insurance policy to cover the risk of cancellation, such as a policy from
If David were unable to run a course due to illness, full fees (including deposit) would be refunded. If David were unable to complete a course, fees would be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
We reserve the right to cancel any course and return all fees if bookings are not sufficient to make it economic. We also reserve the right to change the content of a week’s course according to demand. This is unlikely but necessary to avoid turningaway keen tool tuners if the more specialised courses do not get booked. In this eventuality, full fees would be refunded
